Progress on New Space
We’ve been working hard on preparing our new exhibit space. Pictured above are a few of the display walls which will feature information panels, photographs, and timelines on Louisiana’s rich queer history. The space will feature a permanent exhibit as well as rotating exhibits. The Grand Opening will be in April, although an exact date has not been set. Stay tuned for details.

Volunteers Needed
Once the space is open, we will be looking for volunteers to serve as receptionists and docents. We could also use volunteers to help scan a backlog of material, some of which is pictured above, that will eventually be uploaded to our website. We are in the process of setting up a volunteer portal for those interested. Keep an eye out for that in March.

Fundraising Campaign
The new space will be free and open to the public, but we still have to pay the rent. We are currently developing a fundraising campaign to subsidize the new space, which we will announce in conjunction with the Grand Opening in April. If you would like to help in the meantime, please visit here to donate. Preserving queer history costs money and we need your help. Recurring donations are especially welcome.

Annual Membership Meeting on June 4
Our 2026 programming focus is New Orleans Lesbian History. We are proud to announce the Sapphic Fleur de Lez program will launch at our Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, June 4, at the Marigny Opera House (725 St. Ferdinand). On Friday, June 5, we meet at our new space in the French Quarter (311 Burgundy St.) for a reception and private viewing of the exhibit, and then on Saturday, June 6, we are at The Historic New Orleans Collection (410 Chartres St.) for a symposium. We hope you can join us.
