Our Annual Membership Meeting will take place on Thursday, June 4 at the Marigny Opera House (725 St. Ferdinand St., New Orleans). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The gathering includes a short business meeting, an update on what the Archives Project has been up to in the last year, the presentation of the Alfred Doolittle / Stewart Butler Award, a keynote speaker, and a look ahead to the coming year. Light refreshments will be provided. Please join us if you can.

SYMPOSIUM ON LESBIAN HERSTORY
The Annual Membership Meeting will serve as the launch of our 2026 programming focus–Lesbian Herstory! The Sapphic Fleur de Lez will be a three-day program beginning at the meeting on Thursday evening. On Friday evening we will gather at the new Archives Project Exhibit Space (311 Burgundy St., New Orleans) for a reception from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday will be a day-long symposium of New Orleans Lesbian History at The Williams Research Center (410 Chartres St., New Orleans). Session 1 will explore the intersection of lesbian activism and social gathering (ie–bar history). Session 2 will focus Social Media Posts about Lesbian History. Session 3 is about the Daughters of Bilitis. And Session 4 dives into the current state of New Orleans’ queer women’s culture. Speakers, panelists, and participants include: Dhani Adomaitis, Misti Gaither, Quinn Bishop, Valda Lewis, Sharon Dauzat, Can Mangham, Kate Moranski, Brenda Laura, Lyn Franks, Erin Donovan, Marisa, and representatives from Last Call Podcast, GrrlSpot, HerHaus, and Queer Craft Night. This event is free and open to the public.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Lydia Desormeaux was born and raised in Abbeville, Louisiana. At this time, she is a graduate student at Tulane University studying Historic Preservation. Lydia serves as the Volunteer Coordinator at the new LGBT+ Archives Project Exhibition Space, where she oversees scheduling, training, and on-going digitization projects.
