Cultivating Lesbian Community
The Archives Project, in partnership with The Historic New Orleans Collection, recently honored Sharon Dauzat and the Daughters of Bilitis in an event at the Williams Research Center. For many years, Dauzat led the New Orleans chapter of the Daughters of Bilitis, a lesbian social and civil rights organization. The program included an archival show-and-tell of newly acquired objects from the organization, followed by a conversation featuring Dauzat and AP executive director Frank Perez. You can visit Dauzat’s collection in the Daughters of Bilitis gallery on our website.
